GOVERNANCE

MODERNISATION

The Africa-EU Partnership on Governance encourages accountable and transparent governance in general, and in key economic sectors, in particular. In addition, the 4th EU-Africa Summit set out priorities for the 2014/17 period, which include the promotion of effective and democratic governance.

The key challenges of the future, as shown by many foresight studies, require transversal policy making and collaboration between: international and regional institutions, governments, industry stakeholders, universities, research centres and civil society. The African Forum will highlight inclusive governance practices which better reflect the needs and aspirations of the most-affected individuals and organisations, and promote collaborative governance approaches which include diverse stakeholders.
